Registered Care Homes

Responsive therapeutic homes with round-the-clock care and structured support

Overview

Our registered care homes provide round-the-clock care and support in warm, therapeutic environments with meaningful daily activity and, where appropriate, structured step-down plans towards greater independence.

Often a Good Fit For

People stepping down from hospital or those who need continuous 24/7 support. Suitable for people with enduring mental health issues who’ve been cycling in and out of hospital and would benefit from a stable, therapeutic home.

We also accept individuals with forensic histories who need a structured, well-supervised environment with clear boundaries and multidisciplinary oversight.

Next Steps in Your Journey

Some journeys are about stability, not living alone; we focus on stability, quality of life, and fewer crises. Some residents will move on to 24-hour Supported Living when they’re ready.

Typical Progression Indicators:

  • Sustained period of stability
  • Reduced crisis episodes
  • Increased independence in daily living
  • Effective relapse intervention plan
  • Resident expresses readiness for more independence

Not Ready for This Level?

If registered care feels too intensive, explore our other pathways. However, this level provides the most comprehensive support and is often the best starting point for complex needs.

Step-Up Available:

If needs increase at any stage of the placement, residents can be supported by additional 1:1 hours, as required and agreed.

I’ve been at Shila House for five years. The staff were really kindโ€”they ensured I felt safe and secure. I feel safe and supported here. My dream now is to travel to Southend-on-Sea for a holiday. I hope the staff can support me in making this dream come true.
